Acer, a computer hardware manufacturer that has stepped on a sustainable path is inviting us to join this race. In the latest campaign it promotes pro-ecological behaviour and presents… a new laptop in a 30% recycled plastic case. Together with Acer we decided to run in this green race. Check out the effect!
Challenge
The Acer brand entered the road of more sustainable production of equipment that has so far burdened the natural environment – both on production and disposal stages. First effect of the change of brand’s mindset we can see in its new Aspire Vero laptop. It is produced with case made of 30% PCR (post-consumer recycled) plastic and a number of other green solutions, for example: an easy-to-expand design or a system for efficient energy management.
Our task was to communicate it with consumers by creating a story about the new eco-approach and the newest Aspire Vero products.
Our approach
„We live in a world where we race for everything. But not for the most important things…” – we can hear the voice of well-known Polish actress Magdalena Boczarska, Acer’s brand ambassador. In these first words of video manifest – the “most important” are sustainable development, cleaner air and ecological solutions, which each of us should fight for. This one-minute video created by us with a little girl running through the forest is an allegory of modern world and at the same time it’s a challenge for both customers and tech competitors to race each other in pro-ecological activities.
Join The Green Race, we encourage everyone… at the same time showing that the producer itself is already taking part in the green race, when the animation in the video slightly switches from the word RACE to… ACER. And it’s proved by product with 30% PCR case. Acer encourages you to be „even better, stronger, more efficient.” Because in this race it is worth just to take part, regardless of the place or possibilities. Hopefully everybody will win – we today and future generations tomorrow.

The action is also backed up by a contest in social media with influencer support. Famous instagramers encourage everyone to take part in a special #GreenRaceChallenge and perform various pro-ecological activities. Although the most important thing in the green race is the participation itself, the jury will select the winners and reward them with prizes, including Aspire Vero laptops. Join us! #JoinTheGreenRace
