Nowadays when the path from childhood dreams to adult decisions seems to be paved with social expectations, we decided to challenge that notion. Together with LEGO brand we produced a cycle of video podcasts aiming to spark creativity in youngsters and rebuild mainstream narration.
Kreatywny Klub LEGO (eng. LEGO Creative Club) is an initiative that invites young girls to the world of creative passions which lead to fulfillment in the future.
Inspired to cross boundaries
LEGO brand is known for its engagement in building not only brick constructions but also dreams. This time it focused its actions on girls who often hear from society that it is time to put aside “childish” plays. Our goal was to bust that myth.
To do so we invited four talented women creators: Marta Kachniarz from Trzask Ceramics, Małgorzata Galińska – floral artist and the owner of Kwiaciarenka, Aleksandra Rałowska known as Żona Johna (eng. John’s wife), who designs clothes from long forgotten fabrics, and Joanna Wojniłko – a painter. All these extraordinary women have one thing in common. They preserved imagination and creativity from their childhood days.
Sylwia Lipka – dream ambassador
For our ambassador we chose Sylwia Lipka, a singer who has already won the hearts of the younger generation. As a host she quickly became the guide on this creative journey. Her stage talent allowed us to get great energy between her and the guests. Their meetings showcased not only art but also a unique story about taking care of passions and believing in one’s intuition.
The core placement was YouTube LEGO channel. However, before all episodes were created, we had made sure that our guests and the host had gotten to know each other better. As an icebreaker, Sylwia had popped into each woman creator’s space to see where all these spectacular ideas come to life. Videos from these visits had been shared on Sylwia’s Instagram profile a couple of days before the studio meeting.
LEGO bricks: yesterday, today, tomorrow
And what was the role of LEGO bricks here? They built a bridge between different generations and between childhood and adulthood. Sylwia Lipka and her female guests are the living example of the fact that childhood dreams may evolve into lifetime passion.
Stories that inspire
Every one of the guests of Creative LEGO Club brought her unique story, showing that the road from fun and games to lifetime mission can be colorful and diverse. During talks they were all playing with LEGO bricks. Their memories show that the beginnings of creativity are similar. Every invited creator would play the same way in childhood. These activities would spark an imagination that was never forgotten.
Marta Kachniarz: ceramics that every gril dreamt of
The first of our guests, Marta Kachniarz, is the owner of the famous Trzask Ceramics brand, which is loved by all everyday design fans. In the Creative LEGO Club, she talked about how she had created her own, unique world out of her passion for ceramics. In a conversation with Sylwia Lipka, she explained how one can combine fun with seriousness, transforming everyday objects into works of art. Her story is an inspiration for those who dream of turning a hobby into a profession.
Małgorzata Galińska: flower compositions just like from a home garden
In the next episode we met Małgorzata Galińska who creates extraordinary bouquets in her flower shop in Praga district. She shared her passion for nature and recollected childhood memories filled with creative plays and games, showing how one can take inspiration from the surroundings.
Aleksandra Rałowska: vintage with a modern twist
Aleksandra Rałowska is a designer that left the world of fashion to pursue her own vision. Her passion is creating clothes with vintage soul. To do so, she uses long forgotten fabrics.
Joanna Wojniłko: paint me a dog
Our last guest, Joasia Wojniłko owns „Sklepik z obrazkami”. In her chat with Sylwia she talked about her passion for painting. Her works are colorful, often with happy dogs, which are the reflection of her childhood memories and her exceptional sensitivity. Asia underlined how important it was to keep her childhood imagination and creativity in adult life.
No limits to creativity
All four guests agreed that LEGO bricks, which had been a part of their childhood, may be behind their creativity at work and everyday life.
And all this despite popular beliefs about how one should use their talents in the adult world. The Creative LEGO Club proves that the boundaries between “should” and “want” are fluent.
