The era of Progressive Web Apps (PWA) is coming. With the technology we have at our disposal today, most of functionalities available in mobile apps can be easily handled by web browsers. There is also one key advantage that PWA offers – it works equally well on any device. This turned out to be an important factor for Carrefour, when the company decided to refresh its e-commerce.
Challenge
Every day, thousands of customers use the Everyday Shopping website. With those customers in mind, we took on the task of redesigning Carrefour’s e-commerce. The project included implementing many innovative solutions which we applied to price display, personalization of the offer and path-to-purchase.
Our approach
Based on the collected data, we developed a new information architecture. We simplified the purchasing process and implemented the PWA technology which now allows to use all functions which previously were accessible only to mobile applications users. We also implemented new business-relevant functionalities. All those changes significantly improved Carrefour’s ability to automate personalized offers, and let customers enjoy simpler and more intuitive purchasing process.
